Free Little Art Gallery

Free Little Art Galleries (FLAGs) are community-run installations that make art available to all, and also encourage everyone to become actively involved in creating and sharing their own art.  The Hopkinton Center for the Arts has kindly agreed to host and maintain a FLAG for our Hopkinton community just outside the HCA south entrance.

FLAGs are similar to Little Free Libraries. You are welcome to contribute some art or take home some art. Please try to keep your artwork tiny. For instance, if it's on paper it should be no larger than 4" x 4". All media are welcome. Miniature gallery furnishings such as easels, platforms, and clips are available inside the HCA, so just ask at the desk if you require one of these to display your work.

We look forward to seeing your little art!

Installation

On April 22, 2023, the Free Little Art Gallery was installed just outside the south entrance of the HCA. The principal builder was James (Jack) Hoyt, who completed the project to fulfill his Eagle Scout requirements. The Hopkinton Center for the Arts and the Hopkinton Cultural Council helped coordinate the installation.

Jack is shown here in Scout uniform, adjusting the height of the post to facilitate wheelchair access to the gallery.
